2025 Dixon Studio Tour VolunteerJobs Selection

Volunteer Jobs are required for all Tour Participants except for specific businesses in the Food & Beverage category. After reviewing the list and descriptions of Volunteer Jobs, please type in your first, second and third choices in the boxes below. 

                        

  • JOBS COORDINATOR 

    • Keeps an up to date roster of all the jobs that need to be filled in the running of the tour throughout the year. Jobs and their definitions are included in the job application. Some jobs require a chairperson as well as team members to be accomplished. 

    • The Jobs Coordinator contacts members regarding their job fulfillment and makes sure that each job position is filled, and that group chairs have all the help they need to get the job done.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: June-November

    • Expected # of hours: 20-30

  • LODGERS TAX 

    • Applies for the Lodgers Tax Grant in the spring each year, and carries out payment procedures and reporting after the event.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: June-November

    • Expected # of hours: 10-15

  • MEDIA FILES ORGANIZER 

    • Compiles Participant Images and Bios/Artists Statements in Dropbox for access by Map Committee and Publicity Committee

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: June-October

    • Expected # of hours: 10-15

  • TOUR TREASURER

    • Year-round position

    • Responsible for recording any income and payouts and keep a running balance to be shared with the steering committee and membership if requested. 

    • Assists and approves decisions around spending of funds. Holds a key to the tour PO box and administers the bank account, checkbook/register.

  • MAP COMMITTEE COORDINATOR

    • Decides on the visual and textual content of the map, type map content, proofread, and follow through to see that maps are ready on schedule.

    • Convenes meetings with Committee June-September

    • Mentoring available as needed

  • MAP COMMITTEE MEMBER (3 volunteers needed)

    • Decides on the visual and textual content of the map, type map content, proofread, and follow through to see that maps are ready on schedule.

    • Regular meetings June-September

  • MAP DISTRIBUTION COORDINATOR

    • Creates spreadsheet of all of the volunteers who will distribute the maps

    • Matches volunteers with specific map distribution sites

    • Supports Map Distribution Committee Members in picking up correct number of maps, confirming drop off sites, and debriefing upon return

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: September-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • MAP DISTRIBUTION COMMITTEE (15 volunteers needed)

    • Map Distribution Committee Coordinator assigns each volunteer a location within Northern New Mexico and Albuquerque to drop off maps at designated spots.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: September-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 3-6, depending upon driving distance

  • SIGN COMMITTEE COORDINATOR

    • Repairs, maintains, constructs, distributes, collects, and stores signs for the numbered stops. 

    • Coordinates central sign pick up and drop off for all stops on Dixon Studio Tour.

    • Mentoring available as needed.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: August - November

    • Expected # of hours: 10-20

  • SIGN COMMITTEE MEMBER (2 volunteers needed)

    • Supports Sign Committee Coordinator

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: August - November

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • HIGHWAY SIGNS COORDINATOR 

    • Makes, maintains, erects, removes, and stores the highway signs.  

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: May-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • HIGHWAY SIGNS COMMITTEE MEMBER

    • Supports coordinator to make, maintain, erect, remove, and store the highway signs.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: August-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 5-10

  • DISPLAY ADS COORDINATOR

    • Covers all advertising in print media that is invoiced by the tour and paid for by the Lodger’s Tax fund

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • RADIO ADS COORDINATOR

    • Covers all advertising created for radio spots and special articles

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • PRESS RELEASE TEAM (3 volunteers needed)

    • Covers all articles and spots created for the press

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • DST PARTY COMMITTEE COORDINATOR

    • Works with guidance of Steering Committee to organize a party for Dixon Studio Tour participants

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: August-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • DST PARTY COMMITTEE MEMBER (2 volunteers needed)

    • Works with Committee Coordinator to plan and execute party

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: August- November

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • PRESS RELEASE COMMITTEE MEMBER (1 volunteer needed)

    • covers all articles and spots created for the press

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: September-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 5-10

  • SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

    • Covers all outreach and publicity created on social media platforms. Maintains a calendar of scheduling posts and administers each of the platforms.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 25-40

  • SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM MEMBER (2 volunteers needed)

    • Supports coordinator by gathering content from Tour participants, including photos, text, updates, etc. 

    • Helps develop calendar, write content, and post on social media.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15 


  • E- NEWSLETTER  COORDINATOR

    • Works closely with Social Media Team in sharing content to include in regularly scheduled e-newsletter.

    • Maintains email lists to be used through the year to contact those who have inquired about the tour, have attended the tour, have added their contact to the tour via the website and/or contact collection by members during the tour and their own outreach.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-November

  • E- NEWSLETTER  TEAM (1 volunteer needed)

    • Supports E-Newsletter Coordinator in collecting and developing content for Tour’s e-newsletter.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 20-40

  • ONLINE CALENDARS COORDINATOR

    • Researches those agencies who provide information to the public about events going on in our area. 

    • Provides the calendar with consistent information provided by the tour that represents us in the area.

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-20

  • TOUR PHOTOGRAPHER

    • Available throughout the year and especially during the application period to assist and support members with their photography of their work for use in tour materials

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: June-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 15-20

  • TRAFFIC CONTROL COORDINATOR

    • Contracts with community members that can be on hand in the main downtown parking lots during the tour for safety and traffic flow purposes

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: September-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 10-15

  • ELEMENTARY SCHOOL & MISSION LIAISON 

    • Maintains communication with our group venues as to their vendor signup policies, gather names and media of the artists vending in their spaces

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 5-8

  • DST ADOPT-A-HWY CLEANUP  

    • Organizes and notifies people to come work on the twice yearly cleanup of first mile of Hwy 75

    • Year-round

    • Approximate # of hours: 8-12

  • MAILING LIST DATABASE MAINTENANCE

    • Receives and enters physical addresses in tour database

    • Year-round

    • Approximate # of hours: 15-25

  • MAP DRIVER TO ABQ MAIL CENTER

    • Drives physical maps after receiving from printer to bulk mailing center in Albuquerque

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: September-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 3

  • HIGHWAY DEPT., FIRE DEPT., & SHERIFF LIAISON 

    • Contacts these agencies as to the dates and needs of the tour

    • Makes connection with an official in each for support required or requested.

    • Mentoring available as needed

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: July-October

    • Approximate # of hours: 5-8

  • POST TOUR CLEAN UP COMMITTEE COORDINATOR

    • Organizes and notifies people when/where to help pick up town after the tour 

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: October-November

    • Approximate # of hours: 5-10

  • POST TOUR CLEAN UP COMMITTEE MEMBER (3 volunteers needed)

    • Works with Coordinator to clean up town after tour

    • Expected time period for fulfilling job: immediately after tour/first week of November

    • Approximate # of hours: 3-5
