Jill Whitten

I have been working in clay for 14 years. I am influenced by the whimsy, looseness, humor and humanity of Mexican folk art and, in the tradition of folk art, I make small hand-built sculptural objects that are elaborately painted with underglaze followed by clear glaze, currently-animals, bowls and candelabras. I sell my work at the Menil Bookstore (Houston) Inman Gallery (Houston) and Garza Marfa (Marfa, TX).
