Annie has participated in the Dixon Studio Tour for one year, 2026 will be her second year, and it has become one of her favorite ways to connect with visitors, collectors, and fellow artists. Annie creates paintings, codices, printmaking, and mixed-media works inspired by Mexican heritage, Indigenous cosmology, water, and the natural world, often working on amate paper to connect her practice to an ancient Mesoamerican tradition. What she enjoys most about making art is exploring the relationships between culture, ecology, and spirituality while transforming stories and observations from the landscape into visual form.
Annie's work is unique in its combination of contemporary painting, codex forms, traditional materials, and symbolism that speaks to cultural memory and our connection to the land. Annie invites visitors to her Dixon studio to experience these works up close, learn about her creative process, and engage in meaningful conversations about art, culture, and the natural world.
