Judy Robbins
Canyon Winds Studio

oil paintings, shadow boxes,
hand-pulled prints

I am a painter, printmaker and box artist, working in oils, watercolors, inks and found objects. The Southwestern geography of open sky and grand distances and the quiet solitude of the desert are factors which have allowed new light and color to influence my two dimensional work.

My shadow boxes, influenced by the artist, Joseph Cornell, are sometimes joyous, sometimes dark, and allow one thought to be expressed in selected objects.

The culture of the West, founded in the past but alive and thriving in the present, is conveyed through my art as a symbolic, contemporary and personal vision of the land on which I live and the past which has shaped and influenced me.
